Hello! HowDoodle You Do?

Hello! My name is Karen Light. I am a creative, colorful, compassionate, passionate, inquisitive, talented, seeking, fun, insightful, ever-growing, experienced, adventurous, juicy, and accomplished human. Just like YOU!

My favorite thing about myself is that I am an artist. (What’s your favorite thing about yourself?) I love how being an artist has compelled me to create a rich tapestry of inspiration, people, and opportunities around me, how it has helped me to transform challenges into expanding versions of myself, and how it keeps me endlessly curious about what might be next!

My purpose is to Awaken Creative Power within myself, in my work, and with anyone I meet. For many years, I struggled to believe that I could be successful as an Artist. What it took to do so felt uninspiring and exhausting and so I simply avoided it for a long time. This led me to quit many things in my life and to experience A LOT of burnout that was hard to recover from. Once I got support, learned to embrace the creative being that I was, and do things in a way that worked for me, I began to thrive.

HowDoodle has emerged from a toolbox that I carefully crafted over a lifetime of creating art and the many years I have spent teaching people across socio-economic statuses and the full spectrum of ages. As a Creative Executive Function Coach, I have guided many Creatives and Creative Teams with a variety of learning differences and mental health challenges through their struggles, self-define what success means to them, and develop the confidence to make it happen :)

My toolbox also includes my experience in corporate educational leadership, my studies in community arts, and my work in social justice. As a lifelong seeker of personal development and transformation, I have various modalities to draw from.

Furthermore, I have a BFA from Xavier University and an MA in Cultural Management from City University London. I hold coaching certifications from the Transformation Academy and the Academy of Modern Applied Psychology with several more in process.

Thank you for allowing me to introduce myself. I hope you will reach out and introduce yourself as well! In the meantime, you can continue to follow this journey by checking out my doodle diary and subscribing to my newsletter below!
